help focus rs smoking

Default help focus rs smoking

Hope someone can help im averagely sure its turbo seals but when car comes on boost its nice when I change gear regardless of revs and it comes on boost again I get a small puff of blue smoke (oil burn) car doesn't seem to be using oil and ticks over ans runs really well just wondering if anyone would know before I commit to spending

start with the easy / free stuff first before spending..

give you're boosts pipes a clean out and while you're there you can check the seals to see if there's any obvious leaks and check the turbo shaft for play then go from there.

Also make sure any other breather pipes are clear as a blockage could be increasing pressures and forcing oil past the seals whether they are good or not.

how many miles has it done ?? might just be due a refurb on age / mileage anyway.. Turbos don't last for ever unfortunately

Finally stripped turbo off lastnight and visible nice new oil in compressor housing nice and black in outlet so seals definitely knackered and compressor wheel has took a hit by looks of it also so new turbo ordered
