just found out the problem to this, its more common on the 1.6 (which is what i have)
there is water in the spark plug well's believed to be coming in from the washer jets as these sit directly above the spark plugs apparently ford no about this but will not recall them
instead new washer jets with a rubber seal have to be bought wich is somthing im going to do

but the main thing im absolutly shiting myself about is 1 spark plug is stuck because of the rust if that breaks i am fooked the car is at the garage now i will find out the result tomorrow

also found a stainless cover to go over the spark plugs here
http://www.teamtorquesteer.co.uk/foc...ker-cover.html
would this be ok i mean would it create any unwanted heat to the plugs and leads

Similar thing happened on my mrs's old fiesta, rain water leaking through the washer jets into the spark plug wells, new jets with a small amount of sealant sorted it. You sure it's not the coil pack that's gone tits?

well just got it back it turns out the rubber washer for the washer jet had been put on the wrong way around (not by me before i bought the car) they have been turn the right way also like you said rich with a bit of sealent,

the spark plug is still stuck so im going to squirt a bit of penetration fluid in the spark plug well once a week for a month then see if it will loosen, if not then try for 1 more month then after that a lot of force will be used with a long ratchet
if it loosens then but if it snaps then its a head of job at Ł700

Don't need a new head. Just get the head off and drill it out
