18's will fit just make sure they are ET42 or higher, no wider than 7.5" and wearing 215/35/18 tyres.

Superleggera's look absolutely fucking awesome on the mk1 Focus!

^^^

There is your proof that you NEED 18's

They look shit in 16's, just about passable in 17's but look the dog's funking danglies in 18's!!!

The RS with Superleggera's I'll bet were 19's - hard as fucking nails but impractical on a day to day basis (imagine having to replace the tyres every 6 months because they wear on the inside edges) and borderline pointless on a standard, non-wide-arched Focus.

unfortunately i cant afford to replace 18" alloys on a weekly bases and even 17's would get killed within a year on my roads...infact my standard 16's were killed within 8 months due to a hidden pot hole. unfortunately bucks county council are the WORST for repairing the roads. took them till august to bodge all the bot holes from december/jan time. i live in a little village and we had near 25 pot holes!!

they even completely resurfaced one road (shut it for a week to do) and within 6 months the 3 foot long, 2 ffoot wide and 1 foot+ deep pot holes were back!!!

those superleggeras were a cheap replacement

currently running 16" rial giros as daily wheels but gone from 205/50 to 205/55 and i actually think they look really good as the extra tyre fills the arch and i hate HUGE wheels with rubber band tyres!!

EDIT: i really liked the standard alloys, still got them but 3 have flat spots though from what i've seen they can be repaired.

Yeah that is the one big problem with Superleggeras - they are bloody light so do what they say on the tin (OZ supply Formula 1 teams with their wheels) but the offshoot of that is they don't take kindly to British potholed roads!

I bought two sets of second hand 17's and every one balances perfectly so they must be pretty strong despite weighing just over 7 kilos each...and no, I won't sell a set LOL. Apparently the alloy they were made from is very unusual in that it contains a small amount of titanium.

Should've stayed with 17s, the mk1 focus drives HORRIBLE on 18s! I put 18s on my old st170, was the worst thing that I ever did to it. Crashed through all the bumps, tramlined and seemed to make the steering very vague.

mines dont need changed every 6 month, you need a geometry set up once its lowered thats what kills tyres.

im on coilovers and dont suffer any of the above.tired shocks, lowered cars with no geometry set up cause the above, the rs came with 18's,dont think they would send a car from factory that did the above .i use mine as a daily driver

anyways couple of pics with 19's on my mk1 focus
