unfortunately i cant afford to replace 18" alloys on a weekly bases and even 17's would get killed within a year on my roads...infact my standard 16's were killed within 8 months due to a hidden pot hole. unfortunately bucks county council are the WORST for repairing the roads. took them till august to bodge all the bot holes from december/jan time. i live in a little village and we had near 25 pot holes!!

they even completely resurfaced one road (shut it for a week to do) and within 6 months the 3 foot long, 2 ffoot wide and 1 foot+ deep pot holes were back!!!

those superleggeras were a cheap replacement

currently running 16" rial giros as daily wheels but gone from 205/50 to 205/55 and i actually think they look really good as the extra tyre fills the arch and i hate HUGE wheels with rubber band tyres!!

EDIT: i really liked the standard alloys, still got them but 3 have flat spots though from what i've seen they can be repaired.
