Default st170 warning lights

hi all,

I bought a 52 plate st170 3 weeks ago, it has high miles but very well serviced, last service less than 1000 miles ago.

Took it on its first decent motorway run this weekend, from where I live, near chester-le-street to oakham, about 180miles.

Got there fine, steady 70>85mph, 50mph through the roadworks lol, used half a tank.

Headed back tonight, same speeds about 70>85mph. We stopped at weatherby services for some food and to top the tank up. While we were there a warning light came on, bottom left, orange with a pic of an engine in it.

It stayed on, drove home from there all be it a bit slower, about 80ish miles from home. Everything seems normal tho, all gauges reading within normal limits.

Any ideas?

Cheers Liam

Yeah disconnect the negative lead off the battery for half hour or so, then put it back see if the light re-appears. Chances are you lambda sensor is knackered, very common to go on the st170s, had to replace mine!

Mine was knackered for a while, the light kept coming on and off every now and then. Will affect fuel economy a bit and drove a bit smoother after is was changed!
