Default Focus ST - Fitting an Auto Dim Mirror

Hi all,

Ive recently purchased an auto dimming mirror off eBay to fit to my Focus ST3 2007 (Non auto wipers). Its from a 2001 - 2003 Mondeo so the mounting bracket is the same as mine.

All I need to confirm is, what wires do I join the 2 from the mirror to in the back of my submarine light ?

Was going to join black to black for the earth then green/red (mirror) to the yellow/brown (sub light).

These are the 2 wires i'd join too /\

The mirror will work when the side lights are on and hence the sub light is on.

Thanks

Andy

Not sure mate but mine's also got a feed from the reverse light switch so if its dimmed then it un-dims when you select reverse.

Also that isn't how mine works, mine is activated by ignition i suppose, then it only dims when light is shined on the sensor on the front of the mirror.

Was yours an option on the car when you bought it? Mine just had a normal mirror, but I missed it from my ST TDCi.

Can anybody else help?

Yes mines standard fit. It also doesn't have any of the buttons on the front that yours has!

To be honest, I find its a bit of a pain in the arse. If its dark and I want to see if the car behind is a copper or anything then its impossible. Would rather have a normal mirror sometimes!

The one I had in the Mondeo didnt have any buttons either, this one is just an older version I guess. If its on, I suppose you just press the button and it turns off.
