Hey Guys, I have a Mk1 Focus diesel as my runaround, however would like to upgrade the speakers to something slightly better, just not sure what size speakers they are.

Am I right in thinking they are 5x7 as standard? And are the coaxial's or components?

Finally I have purchased an audio stalk, but cant get it working, can anyone advise me please?

 

pretty sure they are 5x7 mate and sure the coaxials aswell

mine are pretty good no need to change them just add and sub and amp away you go

 

You can get direct replacements for the focus speakers, I'm pretty sure Alpine amongst others do them, it is also possible in some to squeeze in 6x9, which open another world of good speakers, especially for the money.
My advice go to some places that do audio, and listen to some speakers, as you are only buying them to do one job, that way you get exactly what YOU like best, money permitting of course, personally I love FOCAL, simply stunning speakers but pricey.
I have just cut the door cards on me sapphy and put JBL GTO628 in the front doors, about 1 1/2 hours to do the lot, what a transformation, just need a amp now as they are very underpowered by my stereo, which is 4x25W rms, speakers are 60 watt rms, with an amp the base would get alot better with mine.
I was told by 5 different people they would not fit, which is why I wanted them!!
