the ST170 isn't a turbo as standard, and is fairly tricky to turn into a turbo (no that i'd know)
It's a piece of piss to turbo or supercharge, and the VVC is well worth having, set up correctly on cruise settings has seen nearly 40% fuel reduction at same power level/rpm compared with no VVC.
