alrite m8 i would stick a KnN panel filter in a st170 airbox with the st170 snorkel, you can remove the resinator box for more sound! aftermarket cone filters tend to just suck in heat from the engine bay.

Exactly what I had on my 1.8, plus a 2.0l auto air deflector.

same here, wouldn't recommend if I didn't, though i have the intake going down behind the bumper, not the factory in the grille

you can hear it a bit here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4xhLSROC7w

Probally not a lot, but for only Ł8 or so from Ford, its not expensive.

You should be able to get the k&n panel filter, 2.0l auto air deflector, st170 airbox & st170 snorkel for about Ł100.

ive had a few other filters on mine and it just makes the car stall when the engine bay is hot, KnN panel filter best for me!

i've got a 2l zetec and all i've dont is fit a K&N panel filter and ditched the old snorkel for a bit of cold air feed ductin going down to the lower grill. you have o take the airbox out and chop the little fins off the intake nozel tho to get it to fit on and i can remember the exact size either but its nice and cheap and does the job very well!

hi that does sound like a good option what is the sound like ??so take the snorkel out and replace it with cold air feed and a k and n panel filter .does the snorkel not act as a cold air feed or does that do something else?

its not realy any louder than standard but it flows more cool air so you get better power and throttle response.

the snorkel is a cold air feed but theres 2 down sides to it:

1) it gets air from only a narrow slit between the bonnet and deflector plate.
2) once you pull it apart you realise its very restrictive!

i might take the resonator box off the side for more roar but i doubt i'll be able to hear it as my exhaust is so loud...95db when held at 5k
