Default Few focus questions

1- do 4 doors and 5 doors have the same rear suspension?
something is bent on my 4 door and i need to get it fixed but cheaply so looking for second hand parts but not sure if 5 doors will fit on mine? mine has abs too.

2- need to fit my sony head unit but wanted to keep the steering wheel control working if poss?

3- it has angel eye headlights but i want to fit originals back on, it looks like its had the wires cut though, does anyone know about wiring on these?

4- gotta lower it a bit, the back is well high, what springs are ok?

5- is there any way around uprating the disc size on the front without changing to st170 hubs?

6- do 18" alloys fit with 225/40/18 tyres and a 35mm offset?

Mk1 or Mk2 Focus?

2- Yes you can. Just need to buy some extra wireing. Ive used www.caraudiodirect.co.uk on a few occasions and found them to be good.

4- Eibach springs are highly recomended for all Focus's. Will lower by 30mm. I had these on both my Mk1 Focus's with 15" & 17" alloys.

6- On a Mk1 Focus, 225/40/18 tyres are too wide with normal arches. Would need to use 215/35. On a Mk2 Focus, 225/40/18 is fine, same as the ST alloys. Not sure about the offset tho.

Andy

1) As above mk1 or mk2? 1.4-2.0 I'm sure is the same including diesel. Not sure on the RS or ST170 but reading between the lines I don't think you are buying either of these.

2) See above (adapter)

3) Pics may help

4) Eibachs +1 (I have Apex springs on mine at the rear, still OK)

5) Nope. Fast road discs and pads are the only step ahead before going ST170 or big brake upgrade.

6) See above.

sorry my mistake.
its a 2.0l ghia mk1 2001 on a y plate.
cheers for help.
found some cheap 18's but dont look like they will fit without rubbing, i really dont want 215/35's coz they are too low profile and there are the roads are not great round here.
i will keep eye out for st hubs then!
what i mean about the rear suspension is is it the same setup for all or is there something different on the components like the arms and links?

Same setup mate. 18s are well harsh on the focus anyway. Even my 17s plus lowered and fully polybushed= bump bumpety bump bump everywhere always shaking me around.

i'll stick to my 215/45/17's then in that case.
what about the suspension setup, is it the same as other focus models?

Yup, its all the same apart from the RS which has a wider track. The st170 does have firmer dampers and thicker anti roll bars and is about an inch lower than a standard focus!

having a look on ebay for lowering springs and says that ones after say 30mm will fit standard focus, except the diesels and st170s, any ideas why, as the front on my st170 has at least 50mm springs on the front and nothing at the back, can i get away with finding some 50mm rear springs to put on the car, or would they not fit and have to be specific st170 springs?
