I've got a 1.8 focus and I'm looking into making it an st170 rep,
I've made a shopping list of what i want done to the car:
St170 airbox with an ITG panel Filter
Miltek Cat-back
Superchip
30mm Coilovers
then of course some st170 alloys and possibly a spoiler.
I just want to know a little bit more about the superchip, is it a reliable mod? and what exactly does it override in the ECU?

Also ST170 lights and foglights, are they easy to fit? as i think they are HID or something aren't they?

Finally what sort of power do you think I'll see with the following mods, I'm hoping to break the 150 barrier will this be possible?

i think its easily possible mate. a decent remap and it should add some umphh. but don't st's have a 6 speed box?? chipping a car is utterly reliable so long as you use someone that knows what there doing. and also you should make sure your engine is strong, as a chip puts extra strain on the engine and gearbox for that matter, thats if you plan on having it longterm. but don't forget to upgrade yours brakes an stuff as well

 

Deffo fit st170 calipers (or mrk3 mondeo ones) and 170 discs as the standard brakes are wank imo

4-2-1 manifold is what you want with either cat bypass or sports cat with the miltek system

What are these blufins like for remapping your car and can put back to standard at any time ?

to be honest mate if u could find a cheap enough st170 engine u could be better off throwing that in, for what ive spent on mine so far plus a chip which im yet to get proberly cheaper throwing the engine in...

if not fit the 2litre cams and ecu onto yours there 15bhp straight away and with the st170 filter n snorkel and exshaust you prob upto ur 150 bhp mark!

my 1.8 made 145bhp on dyno with
milltek manifold/custom exhaust
decat
power engineering indiction kit.

added cams and a remap bout 160/165bhp now

if u make 150bhp from that i'll give ya my car and the 2.1 turbo that is nearly built . lol

 

yes u can put ur car back to standard put it leaves a trace on ur ecu so if ur crash and didn't declair it the old insurance company will know!!
