Hi,

Just wanted to check to if there is any difference between the 1.8 and 2.0 blacktop cams from a zetec focus?

I know if u upgrade these in a silvertop you get a power increase but want to know if the same goes for the blacktop?

Also is there any difference with the MAF and Throttle body between the 1.8 and 2.0?

check wiv ford, part number that will solve that,

but i would say no there're the same theres
only 15bhp differance between 1.8 and 2.0 so doubt cams r different
but hey mite be worng.

if ur after sum iv got 2.0 blacktop cams and st170 cams sitting in my room. lol
st170 cams mite be better but not sure check wiv ford m8

oh and iv gotta st170 head for sale, that has massive inlet ports 33.5mm, standard 2.0 head is 28mm.

will the st170 cams fit a 1.8? Also think i saw a post sumwhere where it said the st170 head woz no gud for 1.8 but i cud be wrong??

y not just fit ford 1.8 130ps spec cams?? from a rs1800.

iv gotta blacktop 1.8, miltek manifold decat custum exhaust, power engineering induction kit. it made 144bhp. so cams and a remap should see 160bhp.

not goin 2 bother tho im buildin a 2.1 blacktop turbo .
NA tuning gets boring.

130 spec cams = 2.0 cams. Blacktop and silvertop cams have the same code stamped into the side of them so logic would say they are the same.

Not much difference in maf or throttle bodie if any, yeah 2.0 cams are different as they have different profile or somthing??? But fitting these cams, u will also need a 2.0 ECU, thats the only difference i think between the 1.8 and 2.0 (just going off reading different forums!)

thanks for reply m8. I rang ford and they said the cams and ecu were different, but maf and TB are the same.

Do u no if fittin a 136ps throttle body from a mondeo wud make much difference?

dont thinkso m8, i have heard of porting the plastic throttle bodys out on the blacktops, or if u keep searching on ebay there is a company that do them, but tbh i got a focus central 65mm tb and it dosnt make that much of a difference just better throttle response really.

im still toying with the idea of putting the 2litre cams n ecu in mine, its just the reprograming that puts me off!

it is worth swappin for the betta throttle response or is it not really noticable?

i aint that gud wit technical bits bout tuning cars! So it wudnt be a straight swap then for the cams and ecu?
