1.6 to a 2.0 engine swap
if i were 2 change my 1600 2 a 2000 would i need 2 change i no i would hav 2 change the ecu, manifolds is there any thing else, also is there much differance between brakes thanks

i think the main thing is that 2.0 tend to have discs on the rear guess yours has got drums? the exhaust is slightly different too, im sure they use the same gearboxes etc. in the 1.6 but ill have to research that for you

1.6 -> 2.0 needs
Engine, gearbox, driveshafts (including intermediate shaft bearing), inlet manifold, exhaust manifold, all ancilliaries, induction pipework, ECU (+ coded keys), wiring loom, engine mounts (I believe - it's round the other way!), all new exhaust, suspension (1.8/2.0 litre engine is heavier so springs/dampers will struggle), bigger radiator and pipework............and there's probably more.
Basically because the engine is round the other way pretty much everything needs ripping out and replacing! It's not financially viable to do unless you can source all the bits dirt cheap and you have access to the time, space, tools and knowledge to do the work yourself.
In short, sell up and buy a 2.0 litre. It'll be cheaper!
