Default my escort mark 6

right where to start?.......

im new here, and it looks as though you all are into your peformance cars, so sorry to disappont! its only a 1.6 zetec! not for long though, im hoping to have a 2.0 zetec turbo lumped in there in the new year!!

anyway my car! one word, different, it has most of a cossie kit, but i didnt build it as a replica, which is why its still a mark 6!

right pictures! i will go through with a quick catch up of my build last year! all done by yours truely, and im work as an architectural tehnician! lol

then cameall he other stuff like new lights, wheels, suspension, etc etc!

engine spec is pants at the moment. nothing major, lol.

just a 1600cc zetec
superchipped
4-2-1 pro tech s/s manifold, (heat wrapped)
s/s de-cat
s/s stright thru system to single rear silencer
usual induction kit
silicone uprated ht leads
uprated plugs
and just a load of chrome and slicone hoses, (engine pics shown are old!)

but.... in 2008 i will be getting a 2.0 zetec turbo lumped in there,

never really built this car to be a mega fast track sorta car!

well you havent done a bad job so far of putting a decent car together, as far as insurance goes give Quindirect a buzz, they do really good deals for young drivers, i have their number some where ill try to find it. oh also if you dont mind me asking how much has the build cost you so far excluding the ice.

hmmm... excluding the ice (which was pennies, as i had it laying around!)

car - 1000
kit - 600
paint - 150
interior, (inc seats, nitrous, steerng wheel, snap off, harnesses etc and materials for re trim) - 1400
wheels - 600
suspension - 600
misc - 750 ish

prob, around 4.5k, now the engine lol. should have just saved it all towards a decent car, but its given me something to do for the last year and a half, i would have been bored sensless otherwise! lol

yeah but you wouldnt get a sense of achivement if you just bought a sorted car. besides youve made it yours and there isnt another like it, thats what modding is about. what sort of power you looking to get from the z turbo. 300bhp seems too be pretty achievable. are you gonna build it yourself or go to some one like ian howell

no, not building it myself and no ian howell. lol.

i know someone who build zetec turbos, and is going to do mine. dont think i will be aiming as high as 300bhp, as funds are limited, plus i am getting to the end of spending money on this car, so id be happy with 200 - 230bhp, which means no forged internals needed, just the simple double head gasket and de comp plate route.

reason i am not willing to spend ŁŁŁŁŁs on the engine is i will most proberly be looking into a new car this time next year!

so the new car? will it be another blue oval or are you trying some thing different? i have st170 calipers on my rs2000 and have to say they are a huge improvement over my standard ones. also the engine still sounds sweet, more than enough power to upset a few people. will you be selling the car to fund the new one or have you spent to much on it to let go?

you know what, it is a tough decision, firstly i proberly wont get much for selling it, and if i was to sell it i may as well keep a few things, like the seats as they aint cheap!

or... i could break it for parts and get more money than selling it whole, but with that idea i just cant bring myself to do it, i know its not the most extreme or expensive car on here, but i did it, a;lot of hard work went into that, just to break it up!

so i am not decided yet, but in not a rich person so id imagine id have to sell this to get another car, i have 2 already! just the escort and a cheap run around,

as for what next?? i dont know, there isnt much in the way of fords that appeal to me within my price range, i have done a few drift days etc, so ideally id want something powerful but rwd, i definatly dont want fwd, to much bloody understeer! lol
