Default 2003 1.6 - Idle/Clutch Probs

Afternoon All

A couple of annoying probs

When first started, the revs seem a bit high and the car sometimes seems to 'pull' you along the road??

Also, when changing gear there is sometimes a 'squeaking' sound??

Any thoughts? Its my old mans car and he's been told these things are normal?

Does the "squeaking" occur when the clutch pedal is depressed ?

It's when you lift the clutch up after changing gear if that's what you mean mate?

Sounds like the pedal return spring. Adviseable to get it looked at. I had a TDCi Sport that started to do that, until the spring snapped ! That ended up with a new pedal box under warranty.

Yes mate, seems to clear itself when it's warm?

A mate told me it could be a problem with the idle control valve???

Sounds like it. Something that is an easy fix. Replacement part should cure it.
