when do i change my Cambelt?

Default when do i change my Cambelt?

i bought a focus st170 last month and i cant see anywhere to see when the cambelt should be changed.. on my escort i changed it at 50K miles..

is it the same in the focus as i am not sure?

every 10 years or 100,000 have know the tensioner fail a bit earlier !!!

Hi Mate

I think it is maybe a good idea to change it within the next year, I don't want to worry you but I have heard of them breaking and wrecking the engine, think that is just a recommenddation from ford.

My focus is 5 years old and done 55000 miles and will be changing it within the next few months.

well i think i might risk it cos it will need to be rebuilt for whats planned in 2 years... i will have a think tho ... very good help

Yeah they say 100,000 miles but most people would change it at 60,000 miles..

well now i'm worried. mines done 96,000 and not been changed yet. had no probs with the car at all (touch wood) and she is superb!!!

will be changing at 100k along with checking the valve clearances and a good service!!! should last another 100k, in my dreams maybe
