Worth a second opinion?
I spent a lot of money three years ago getting my 96 Fiesta through it's MOT and since then the last two have been not too bad.
However this time I was hit with this
Nearside outer (sill) Seat Belt anchorage prescribed area is excessively corroded
Offside outer (sill) Seat Belt anchorage prescribed area is excessively corroded
Offside (floor) Seat Belt anchorage prescribed area is excessively corroded
Nearside inner (sill) Seat Belt anchorage prescribed area is excessively corroded
Nearside rear subframe mounting prescribed area is excessively corroded
offside rear subframe mounting prescribed area is excessively corroded
Near side front suspension arm has excessive play in ball joint (I think I know how that happened, I smacked into a chicane in April)
Also the master cylinder and rear brake pipe need replacing, but I knew that already.
It does sound a lot to go wrong in the space of a year concidering non of this was advisory last year, and now it's become "excessive".
Someone else told me that the particular guy who did it was "more expensive than the other guy" (it was the other guy who did my two previous MOTs I think) and it turns out my garage does not exactly have rave reviews online. Should I just scrap it or look into it more, I have until just after the end of the month before the old MOT runs out.
Also is it possible for me to look at the subrame mounting without a ramp?
