Hi everyone, I have a problem with the engine temp gauge on my 2000 focus 1.6 petrol auto estate. When I switch on the ignition the gauge jumps straight to the middle even when the engine is cold, I've entered the self diagnostics and when it does the gauge sweep test the temp gauge stays still in the middle.would a faulty cylinder head sensor cause this? Or is it a problem with the gauge itself? Also I had it running just for a few minutes yesterday and the fan came on. I know that in the self diagnostics you can view engine temp, what sort of temperature is normal? And if I'm getting a temp reading here I assume the sensor is ok? Sorry for such a long post, this is just annoying me now!
