i have a 2000 1.6 hatchback,

i need to replace the drivers side hub, are the 1.4 and 1.6 hubs the same,

and im thinking of replacing the engine for another 1.6 lower milage, mines 142000mile, the swap will be easy enough for me, can you swap the engines without swaping ecus aswel, and does it matter weather the engine is from a hatchback or a saloon, because saloons are easier to find in a 1.6

Hubs are the same on the petrols AFAIK, only the ST170 hubs are different.

I would imagine that you can keep the same ECU, if you're just swapping engine and no ancilliaries over it shouldn't be too difficult a job, did one myself on a Renault Megane in 1/2 a day, not bad considering I'd never touched a french car before.

Look into it, but might be better trying to get the engine from an Auto... they won't have been revved hard or redlined at all, so might be in better nick.

You can use the fron hubs from any 1.4/1.6/1.8

Engine wise just swap the engine over no need to change the ecu..
You can use the engine out of any mk1/1.5 focus or fiesta mk4/5 as long as the engine cover says zetec-se it will work in your car...
