Default Turbo timer in Focus?

Does Focus diesel have turbo timer or similar as std?
Is it important to let the engine run for a while, before turning it off etc...?

If you've been running at high rpm for a period of time then allow it to idle for a minute or two before turning off, otherwise it's fine to switsh off straight away.

No not as standard, in any case you don't need a TT, they are more of a gimmick really, best thing is just to stay off boost for the last couple of miles before your destination.

If it's a MK1 (And so the 1.8 engine or 1753CC ) then they go on forever, that engine has been around for a long time, it's the same one as can be found in Escort vans etc, just make sure the cam belts changed though.

Thanks, I have a TDCi 2005 car and the 1,6 engine.
I am told I should shift the time/cam belt every 10 year or 240.000 km, but I will change before that.
It has now done 62.000 miles, and the family is looking forward to the next 100.000

Oh so that's a MK2 then, yes Fords recommendation is 100K or 10 years, whichever comes first, but you would be trusting to adhere to this! Many change much earlier, around 62,000 miles is the general consensus. I think Haynes themselves recommend 45K.

Thanks Martin.
I contacted the Ford dealer here in Iceland and they told me 240.000 km or 10 years for cambelt replacement for this diesel engine, have you any other info on this in UK?
- Because this maintanence or replacement is very important as we all know...

I also have a Focus tdci 1.6, a 06 model van,
I have been told that it has a timing chain which does not need to be replaced,
is this true?
