No not as standard, in any case you don't need a TT, they are more of a gimmick really, best thing is just to stay off boost for the last couple of miles before your destination.

If it's a MK1 (And so the 1.8 engine or 1753CC ) then they go on forever, that engine has been around for a long time, it's the same one as can be found in Escort vans etc, just make sure the cam belts changed though.
