Hey guys, I have a ford focus mk1 1.6 petrol 2004 plate coming up to 70k miles. I've just driven my car for 10 mins got out went into a shop for 3 mins came back, started my car and it struggled to start. It took 6 times for the start up motor to kick in and start the engine (this has never happened before). After this I turned the engine off and restarted again and it started as normal after 2 times of the start up motor. Any ideas? Thanks

Do you mean when you turned the key nothing happened, you then tried 6 times then it turned over, or did it turn over in the first place?

 

fuel pumps are common for intermittent starts but ideally you need to type more info for anyone to help you diagnose

 

I only turned the key one but it took 6 times for the engine to kick in.

 

So did it turn over when you turned the key?

Or did it turn over and not start?

 

Yes I only turned the key once and it turned over 6 times.
