Default rattly on startup (question for oilman??....)

The old sierra is gettin rattly on startup these days.

It spends 5 days a week parked up at the house not doin much and when it first gets started (from very cold....its Scotland, bloody freezin!) it rattles.

I thought it might be the oil that needed changed, but it didnt stop after i changed it.

Once its warmer its fine, and its 10/40 im using.......should i try using 5/40 oil instead or could it be another problem??

Has it still got 2wd pistons in it?

Sounds like piston slap to me, as long as it disappears when warm should be nothing to worry about.

Low on oil or lazy hydraulic tappets.
