Exclamation Help needed fast !!!!

Hi People.

On Friday morning went out the car and it would not start was ok the night before, So anyway called the AA as I have parts & labour cover was told by the AA Patrol guy it was the fuel pump. It went to Halfords Auto centre on Saturday as they deal with the AA Direct Got it back Saturday late afternoon and when I got home the steering lock would not lock so I go back there on Monday morning manager did not want to know and said they can and do go all the time. Now at this point I am pi**ed right off as it will not lock and the key is hard to turn to get it started. So I go back in the afternoon manager still says the same and thinks it's a little funny and say there is nothing he will do about it. So at this point I get a little naughty with him and he has now said bring it on Friday.

To fix it does the wheel need to come off also he said that I might end up with 1 key to unlocked and 1 key to start it but I don't want that really as it will be a pain. what is needed to sort the problem out so I can tell him what I want as I am not taking his c**P.

Or could it just give up ????? but I can see how all was working fine when I dropped it off there.... Thanks

if the barrel is stuffed you simply fit a new barrel which will then be built to match the key you have

a simply job and no, the wheel won't need to come off, just the cowling for the column

if the sterring lock is buggered then it's normally the barrel that hasn't turned back to it's "key removed" position, so that would point to more barrel related issues

not sure why though, it nrmally only happens if they are worn

just pop the steering covers off and stick the key in the ingtion and turn once then look at the barrel area you will see a small hole stick a screw diver in there and just pull the key towards the door. the locking part is out now try turning the key now if its still sticky drownd in wd40 for 30 mins if still nothing then its jammed and a new one is need but if it moves perfectly fine then its the locking part on the steering colum thats fucked and the CAR SHOULDNT BE DRIVEN UNTIL FIXXED!! really my friends brother car was like it a few years ago toke it somewhere to be fixed thay had a look and ordered new parts which wouldnt come till the monday and told him to bring it back then on saturday with 3 mates in the car the steering locking came on at 60mph when going round a bend and he crash and killed his friends. which he was told the car was safe but wasnt and his been in prison ever since.

Exclamation OMG

So somehow they have fooked the steering look so you say that it can come back when driving it so it's not safe to drive ????

How could they fooked it .. is it an easy fix and to have 1 key that does all I am worried if the wheel comes off it never been straight again ????

i doubt they fucked it. Just a coincidence imo. Personally i would choose not to drive it if the steering lock is sticking.
