car dies uphill.... any ideas welcome
well i got a 1.8 petrol w reg focus, and it struggles uphill it used to do it before but only on 1/4 tank of juice, so i kept her topped up.. now i ran it low and it does it all the time every hill,
so yesterday i replaced the filter and thought that might be the cause..... nope still the same
it had the pcv pipe replaced a couple of yrs ago when i first got it and that looks fine
im thinking its possibly the fuel pump but would it just stall on load uphill?
i have a 1.6 pump and sender in my spares bin do you think there the same?
hope i sort this soon cuz its a pain in the arse planning the flattest route everywhere....
cheers, dave

well changed the pump today and still doing it... errrr
and to top it off an o-ring split ford want £67 for a pipe with one on..... errr no! .. i dont belive my project mini is over twice as old and i can buy every nut bolt washer retaining clip brand new for pence still but a 10 yr old focus you cant!!
so i was driving back and it was exactly the same then all of a sudden it got worse!!
wouldnt even pull off... so i had an idea i pulled the maf connector off and if i just touch the throttle a tiny bit it ran....
so would i be right to assume the maff is broken or dirty? or the intacke pipe is split maybe? or am i just fishing as ought to scrap the bag of shit before it costs me more!? lol
any help/advise/random ideas would be most gratefull,
cheers dave
