Hey folks, recently picked up a mk2 with a zetec conversion. I dont have much history on the car so please bear with.

It has come with mk1 tail lights, (which have no reverse) and i think this will soon be on MOT fail.

So im wanting to swap to mk2 lights.

Can anyone show whats involved and a way to confirm that the IB5 (guessing) box has the switch connected?

I know they aren't currently tested, but will it be a case of if not present then they can't be tested so it's a pass?

i think that how it currently passed. i just want to cover my bottom for future events. Plus if it does become regulation there might be a spike in prices so trying to get organised now.

I have sourced the lamps and olders, just hoping for easy fitment and that all the wiring is in place

It won't be regulation as not all cars have reversing lights.

At best it would be that after such a date cars were fitted with them and therefore need to work (analogous to rear fog lights).
