Default back with starting problem

well long time no see i need my car to start and well it doesnt

its been intermitent now just doesnt start advertised it on ebay best offer was 700-800 quid id rather keep it and do the work but if it doesnt start cant get it to a garage to sort the overheating

any ideas on what could be the problem ??
ive checked all normal things batterys good almost new turns over but doesnt kick in stutters kinda also when i did get it running it would run fine for 15-20 mins then boil over fan kicks in fine and temp just gets hoter not sure really where to start any guidelines ??? first port of call ??

suppose getting it started would be a good one i replaced the dissy with a recon on cant be gone already???

how do u know thats wrong tho..

Nxt tim ur out try and start the car. then check the plugs smell them do they smell of petrol?? if so sod all wrong with metering head

Take a spark plug out and hold it on the manifold with ht lead connected turn car over and check for a spark..no spark could be fooked plugs try a spare one just to check.etc

Dont waste ya time buying parts that could be ok when the problem could be something silly like foooked plugs or a connection thats not on.

check its sparking
check fuel
does the metering unit flap move up and down when you try starting it?
hold down the flap slightly on the metering unit see if it helps
what temp does the fan kick in at
is it a standard rad or alloy with 10" fan
header tank cap cant hold pressure

Good thought there.........won't be his overheating problem though, but might at least get him running again

Have you got any updates for us jay?
