boost prob????

Default boost prob????

just bought an rst s2 today owns had the engine rebuilt and runs fine but when i was on my way home it was not boosting positivly it will only rev to 4/12rpm but if it standing then it will rev to the limeter the dump valve not working eaither what do i do to sort this prob??///any ideas of getting it to boost??????

check all the boost hoses are on and have no splits in them! take the d/v off!! could be an actuator problem also. dont rev it to the limiter when its standing still either!!

ok have cheaked that all hoses ar ok why shuldt i rev it to the lim on standing???shall i change my actator???/

take it to a tuner and get it set up properly or you'll end up changing parts that didnt need changing!!!!

revving it to the limit while it's standing still achieve's nothing so why do it?

Free revving you car whilst stationary is something that Subaru owners do and we aren't Subaru owners.

hey i undrstand compleatly but what iwas trying to find out was that the car will not rev obove 4000rpm when driving so when it standing it revs fine that why i was reving it it only happend once??so would it be betterb to change the actator or take it some where to be done would it be ok to drive or trailer it there??????????????

I wouldn't put my money on the actuator at all if I was a betting man, which I am. Even if it was soft, it would hit peak boost then drop back slowly as the rev's increase.

I reckon it is an air leak. Take the crappy dump valve off and block the holes up and see how you get on.

I had the same problem on mine, It needed a new camshaft as it had low compression on Cylinder 3, upgraded to a piper 285 T2 and its been fine since
