Default help needed before a murder is committed

right my s2 is doin me head in, doesnt want to start and when it does its running like a bag of shite, sounds like its only firing on 2/3 cylinders,backfiring,the fuel pump works fine but is not getting a constant feed (volts) its sparking its got a new dizzy rotar arm and cap plugs and leads fuel filter ive swapped over the management still nothin, what happens when the fuel metering head gives up? and where does the pump get its signal from, theres 4 relays behind the dash blue green purple and i cant remember the colour of the other one what are they for

are you sure your timing isn't out by say 1 tooth?

Got the same problem with mine after i put recon head on, it starts, but sounds like only running 3, we advanced timing loads on the distributor to make it hold idle, as a result, it will idle sweet as at 1700rpm, but below that and it dies.

but i have taken it to a garage to sort it out hopefully.

map sensor could be failing ....

what managements on there ?

it is under the drivers footwell, have a rummage under the dash and youll find it...

good luck sorting it...

have you thought about giving it to someone in the know?

i bought this car from a couple of cowboys as a non runner thinkin i would soon sort it out, i never bothered to take the head off coz the valve timing was spot on and all i would have seen was worn bores, so after days of trying everything and failed i took the head off!!!!!!!! should have done this first, 2 BENT EXH VALVES!!!!, the pump relay was also playing up by only working when it suited it, the car is now runnin but is a nightmare to start due to seriously worn bores but now its goin i am goin to rebuild it properly, ive got the chance of a rebuilt feesty turbo block, can this be used?? i know i will have to blank the hole for the crank sensor
