Default Starter motor bolts

what size are they and is it best to remove the starter from above the car or below? easy job?

They are either 17mm or 15mm,cant remember.Do it from below the car,and its a tricky job as space is limited,but it is do-able.Have done it 5 or 6 times myself.Regards Micky

I thought they were 13mm

think there 13mm mate, proper heavy duty and tiny threads, easily do-able just watch the zorst...........

basicly on friday me car wouldnt start, sounded like starter motor, pulled the bonnet n thought id give the starter a bang but found it actually loose! could wiggle it up n down with my hands so was hoping ill jus be able to tighten the bolts up, hoping this is why the starter was locking up. what you think? will i be able to nip the bolts from above?

you can get to two of them from the top but the other one you need to do under the car

Hopefully tightening it up will be ok, but the mounts may be worn as it bolts to the gearbox and it is only made of alloy. Should be ok though, as stated theyre 13mm.
