Default Dawes devices basic boost controller

I have ordered one of these as I'm tired of the amal slowing down the boost build up. This will give faster maximum boost and it's adjustable. It's not a conventional bleed valve.

That's what I'm going to do. After I've removed the amal this boost controller will be installed between the pressure outlet on the turbo and the actuator.

Did you run a Daws devices boost controller? What did they put on instead?

yes it was and they didnt put anything else on at the time. i run a lockable bleed valve now, which keeps the boost at a constant 14psi when on full boost. just disconnect the amal valve and dont worry bout it! do you use a -31 actuator?

It all depends what u want to acheive. My setup has zero spike. At the mo, it hits 26psi and holds it. It's basically an in car valve, with feed taken from crossover on a -34.

I will be changin it, as i want to spike 34 ish and then hold 28, but we'll see.

Was it fitted correctly? The dawes device STOPS spiking.

The Basic Boost Controller holds the signal from the wastegate until it reaches the level that you have set. Because of its rapid actuation, "spiking" (momentarily exceeding the boost limit) is almost completely eliminated. If you already have a boost gauge installed, you will notice that your "factory" boost level will sometimes overshoot the intended peak (or "spike") and then settle back to a sustained level. Our controller is much less susceptible to these boost spikes, allowing you to use the full boost level programmed into your ECU. By using our boost controller, you may set the sustained boost to the level that the factory control used to spike to.

A mate had one fitted to his Scooby turbut & said it was a lot smoother driving & holding boost than before it was fitted.

It uses the same concept as Turbo XS High Perfomance Boost Controller and Turbosmart's boost controller which both costs three or four times as much.

i had one didnt notice a difference, gd thing is it only will bleed enough for 1bar thats its max, although u may want more!
JUst thought if you got a decent -31 or -34 actuator then you wont get much waste gate creep!
