update time,,,,,
rite, fitted my toad alarm/imob,
sent my cert away(photocopy of course),
fitted the abs belts(Ł24),and adjusted the modulators,
working fine,
changed my rear wishbones for the original items from the car as the ,apportional valve linkage was pre-set for that car ,and hadnt changed ,were as when fitting the new ones they were not set correctly, hence the rear offside locking in an emergency stop cenario, sorted now,
speedo cable snapped(Ł20),new one fitted?
had mot today failure sheet and its interpratation to follow,
but first, my fith gear has gone west! previous owner says it was a new box and clutch prior to its laying up,and i have the receipts for them,
but have never driven far enough to use all the gears, hence my dismay when travelling to the station today at not finding fith gear
,now ,it still has an lsd,and goes into the gate, but it just revs like neutral, with no rattles or crunches, wots the score?
failure sheet,
rear rust by suspension =10p size holes times two id missed
rear seat wells rust within susp region,= two sides of thin welds rusted away
rust near sill by seat belt mount= tiny hole id ignored
both wheels foul the liners on full lock(slightly )= take the liners off for test.
both the steering arm nuts on the balljoints are not locking type= fit split pin type nuts and pins or nylock nuts.
everything else was fine.

result, the gearboxman came up trumps, the prob is sorted, the arm was not selecting fifth mechanism, due to it bathing at the bottom of the box.
made my welding shapes for my weekend job,got split pins and locknuts for my steering arms,
got my fifth gear back
just need to weld the bits up and remove my liners for the mot,and rebook my re-test.

update time,
took it in with the liners off, he seen one of the square liner location holes ,and stuck a screwy in it ,rust! and found a five pence size hole under the seam 10cm from that, and told me to fix and return,
i was well pissed off!
but he didnt charge
took it back next day,and BINGO! passed,
but guess wot?
on the way home, there was a rbbing sound, then it gradually got worse to the point of stopping 10 doors away from my house ,the bleeding front wheel bearing packed in!
prob because its been sat for soooooo long,
anyways after loads of worrys about a dodgy gearbox,(thanks gearbox man for your help) its fixed after getting a bearing kit and fitting it last night!
now i think the other sides on its way too,so ive just got another for that, and ill get two rears at the weekend while im at it.in for a penny and all that sheit!
its insured,new alarm,taxed and mot,d. finally.
