800 quid for a tailgate :O
well not quite, 800 quid is how much its gonna cost me to replace my existing one including paint and labour, and they might not even get it to match my paintwork :/
Is this normal? Cant they blend it in or something, my car is red and im not into it looking like a patchwork quilt

If they cant get match for £800 in this day and age,go elsewhere!
You could buy a red tailgate from an RS breakers for alot cheaper and it would prob an OK match

i dont mind paying for a ford tailgate at 240 quid, but paying £400 on labour for to paint it its a bit extreme, £160 in paint aswell :/
and as i said they might not match it :O

The guys aint wrong here... i only paid 550 quid for my baby with a years ticket... 800 sounds bloomin expensive for a non matched respray of ur motor... personally i'd look else where mate

just looked at the quote again , its infact £800 + vat :O
gonna end up near the grand mark for a tailgate, gonna get more quotes this weekend coming

Youv got to be off your fecking rocker to even think about paying that much mate, buy bens for £50 get it painted for no more than £100, bobs your uncle, saved a small fortune

but agree with everyone else that £800 is far too much and you are being bent over
budget for around £250 to paint and supply a tailgate..... imo of course

Even £180 is steep for a bonnet, i got a bonnet and a door done for £190, and thats a top job aswell, different people, different prices, you could say mines is cheap, or you could say yours is expensive, but i think everyone can agree that £800 is way to much for what he`s getting
