fuel pump wont prime??? please help.
Hello all
yesterday i parkd up and went to start 10 mins later and my fuel pump wont prime i have fuel in tank, i have followd the wire from fuel pump to starter motor and pressume this is the one that is not getting power have tried running power to that to bypass it but still not working.
Would the brown ke block have anything to do with it or the pink one should i borrow these off of someone to see if that is the problem?
I have some fuses in my loom and one is a yellow 20 amp fues this one seemd melted at botttom where its got hot etc have replaced that any other ideas?
Thanks Paul.

He such a slacker eh... always bloody breaking his motor!
Bro you can try watever bits of mine you need... but if you've bypassed the relay and it still aint priming it sounds to me like ur pump or earth point on the pump is dead.
Guys, correct me if i'm wrong, but if you run a lead direct from the battery to the fuel pump it should prime constantly yeh ?

ok bro, i'll pop over to the flat be there about 5:30 depending on traffic.. make sure ur in boyo :P
In the meantime, do you not have a wire you can run straight from the battery to the pump, just to see if the pump is alive ?

tried my pink and brown relay in another rst and that rst started so thats not the problem, i noticed on the escort rst that i was swapping relays with it had a grey relay what is this for?
Is this the fuel cut off switch as i dont have one of these in my loom but have read that there is a grey fuel cut off switch?
Next thing will be to run a positive wire striaght from battery to fuel pump

im getting 2 new fuel pumps soon as im buying a exsternal fuel swirl pot set up soon one pump being hi pressure and one lo pressure, i read earlier that if the car thinks its been ina crash it cuts fuel off maybe this has happend?
It seems weird that one i parkd up it was fine then 10 mins later it wont start, i havnt checkd for a spark yet, once it stops raining i am guna get over there with some axle stands and a jack and check it out at fuel pump end.
Wish ths weather would make its mind up;-(
