Default Dump valve problem

I've fitted a piston type dump valve to my EFi managed escort turbo and the only problem seems to be that it hisses all the time until it comes onto boost I can't say I've ever noticed this before when I've been in other turbo'ed cars.

Anybody got any idea whats up?

Cheers,
Dave.

you need a stronger spring in there mate, give forge motorsport a ring, they have about 5 different strength springs depending on your boost level.

Or just file the dv in a drawer in your garage.

I'd prefer chatter over the DV anyday, but if you insist on the DV it does sound like a weak spring as already mentioned

Chatter is the noise made when the wastgate open's and closes, Fiesta Turbo's chatter well because they have no metering unit, as do Cossie's. I used to run a dump valve on my RSt, but it chirps a little now so I flogged it on e-bay. Depends on your taste really m8.
