Default Cossie Management

Ok i posted this a couple of weeks ago on RSOC and got a few responces so i was just wondering could anyone on here give me anymore info.

"ok i posted a couple of weeks ago about converting the series 1 MFI to EFI but now i have heard about converting to cossie management.

so can some one tell me if it the cossies management its better?

What will i need? Ie wot ECU wot loom Etc

And i take it you have to intergrate the looms, is this an easy job??

Any advice will be helpfull and anyone whos done this convertion any input will be even more helpfull"

Go with autronic instead. It cost the same or less. ITS WAY MORE ADVANCED. Fully mappable. And you can use it on any carbrand. The weber/marelli is way to expensive compared to the autronic. Only downside is that youl have to source down inlet manifold, fuel rail and injectors from a fiesta rst. You will also need some sensors and stuff too.

I wouldn't install an EFI system to my car which I couldn't tune, map, debug, datalog with and modify myself.

Some people cant afford a EFi system that you can tune, map, debug, datalog with and modify yourself. Thats why we use webber and get Paul Hills to do all that!

but, the pricing on the oddkidd kit is the same as for the atruonic setup. complete. and now im comparing norwegian autronic prices (norway is a xtreemely expensive country) with the weber marelli kit provided by oddkid creation. Dont mean to piss on ur shop. just stating facts. since myself needs new injection i have checked and compared all prices. haltech systems are also cheaper. the only downside is that youl have to source down the inlett plenum, the fuel rail and injectiors urself. heres a price example for autronic setup. Autronic SMC flying lead kit 1103Ł included the 25%tax. fiesta inlett and all the other efi thingys you need to complete conversion i found at speedshack. Theyl set me back 100Ł that as totall of 1203Ł With mounting and mapping on a rr its proppably gonna cost ya 2-300Ł xtra. See? and if im not remembering wrong the price on the webermarelli kit was 1400Ł or something very close to that. so if you mount the autronic urself. and dont get me wrong. I realy like the kit u provide. but its to expensive for me...

That's why I'm going the Megasquirt engine management route:

ecu 200 euros
110ps efi head, inlet, fuel-rail, sensors, loom, edis... 120 euros
air-filter, tubing 50 euros
Cossie blue injectors 100 euros
head gasket+bolts 50 euros
knock sensor 30 euros

Thats about it: total 550 euros.

Fully mappable, datalog, lambda-correction, waisted spark, boost control...

On an RST you can use the standard hall effect dizzy to trigger spark....

If you also ned a CPS then that won't be hard to fit...
