whats this?
Can someone explain to me why my engine temp sits never higher than mid way, but yet if im sitting at the lights the view in front of me is moving?! I mean like a mirage?
Also, the heaters are VERY hot, if I put them on full blast cold they still are quite warm. Is this dangerous in anyway?

Julia with the Turbo producing a lot of heat under the bonnet there will be a lot of hot air escaping through the bonnet vents....definatly nothing to worry about its normal
RST's do tend to heat up quickly with the turbo being close to the radiator, this heat causes the water to heat up quickly, which in turn equates to warm temps and a nice warm car when the heaters are turned on
Your temperature guage being mid way up the guage would sugest that everything is working as it should.

Yea as above, mine never goes over 1/4 driving, but after a run if I come to a stop and let the car idle it will got to ust under 3/4 up say the bottom of the "O" and the fan will cut in and bring it back down to 1/4 mark which is normal. If your fan does not come in at all after a drive and the car is left this could mean the car is running too cool, perhaps the thermostat has been removed? Just a thought and maybe worth checking
