Default turbo time boooost - time to upgrade

so basically not found my answer after a few nights research so asking all you boost junkies on here:

will have the turbo off this year and sent of for a rebuild only because its the standard ford T3 with the 270ish bearing running 1 bar boost.

so my question do i just get it rebuild with a 360 bearing

or do i get it rebuild with a 360 bearing and bigger compressor wheel inside?

engine is standard head and cam and bottom, mfi, runs 1 bar usual mods ic, exhaust, -31, cone, group a, 170bhp, was hoping for 18psi the max that the mfi can handle on my next setup, don't really want lag with bigger .48 housing etc

i don't drive the car like i stole it, its just standard engine as stated with basic mods as listed. it'll never be as quick as my S3 so not trying to kill an old tired engine.

just after thoughts on a standard t3 rebuild with 360 bearing or adding a larger compressor wheel without a bigger housing as those are the options midlands turbos offered me

TBH Pushing for more power on MFI may only cause reliability issues, but for reference a larger compressor wheel (the usual stage 2 T3 50 trim) will do around 230bhp flat out so if you can fuel for it then it's a reasonable bump in power, you would also need a suitable clutch too.

ok so 360 and a larger compressor wheel in the standard housing.
I'm only after middle range power really as dont rev it past 4.5k revs.
the standard cam is good, so is 18psi safe or should i go a little more?

Tom if you only rev it to 4.5k its not worth doing anything but saving your money in your pocket.
