I've been told, that if you have a problem wit your RST running hot, you should change the thermostat and the thermo timeswiths to those from a cossie????

can some conferm this??

Sounds really silly but I think really important. I had this problem when I was running a GRS. do you know what I needed to do. Change the Rad. I thought mine was ok but I bought a new one and never had another problem.

Could also be a lazy water pump or headgasket trouble

i have similar probs, my rst gets hot real quick in town, sometimes even gettin up to the 'n' of norm. then she takes ages to cool down when i start driving at 30 mph. on the other hand, i took her for the 1st time on the m1 and the temp gauge was REAL low, it was literally 1mm below the very first marking on the gauge

i have changed the fan switch for a new one (wasnt cutting in till near top of gauge) but it hasnt helped a great deal , cuts in a lil earlier but not a lot.... this xr2 one sounds good, may have to invest lol1

it would be low on the m1 bcos your blasting it down the motorway so you would get cool air into your engine bay. Fan dont usually come on when your driving down the motorway. Ideally your fan should come on when the temperature guage is on half

if its running more than half way on the gauge u have a problem somewhere, unless u have a grs i/c that is!.

ive got a grs, low temp thermostat, heat wrap everywhere, water wetter in coolant and mine never goes above the half way mark with twin fans
