Default Is it me or is there something wrong with this S1?

Hi guys, was looking on ebay and spotted this S1 turbo

Looks okay but then i looked at the under bonnet pic

I noticed it has the early 'two bolt' top mounts on the front struts, now i thought these were replaced by the later Sierra type single top mounts in late 83/84, so this S1 shouldnt have them?

What do you think? reshell?

not a s1
maybe a re shell
no s1 had 2 bolt struts
either a rs1.6i shell or standard mk3 1.3l

Maybe the suspension has been altered afterwards, the inlet manifold looks like it is S2. What about the placing of the fuel filter? Were S1 cars sold with a B-reg anyway?
It is missing the Ford logo and the famous tow eye cover and the wiring looks messy too. Not someone who has an eye for detail.

If you want work, you could buy, if you don't, walk away.

It looks to have no rear anti roll bar either, this shell is no newer than 83, some poor bugger is going to get lumped with this reshell and it's really only a replica, and well dodgy to, be interesting to know if all the numbers match !

Hatchback doesn't line up correctly....

Dirty shitty interior...

Dirty shitty seats...

All in all it's a complete dog. Be interesting to see what somebody gives for it.

As I keep saying, it's getting to the point where all S1's for sale are crappers. The mint ones are few and far between now....

B, C and D reg for these, but all with the sigle mount suspension tops.

Fuel filter is in the correct place, but has been pushed right against the wing when it should be central

The seller also dodged the question about numbers in the floor being correct......

an't believe there's so much wrong with the bloody thing! That interior does look shit from Kieron's pics!

Someone post up there so a genuine buyer doesn't get lumbered with this shit heap! Would be well unfair to the untrained eye!

Difficult to let the bidders know though mate. Short of emailing the highest bidder etc.....

It'll sell, to somebody who doesn't know any better. It's the old saying "Buyer Beware" i'm afraid....

No doubt a young lad will buy it because it's a cheap S1 and fast and promptly blow the engine or wrap it. Another S1 (albeit a dog) will die....

No way will that see more than 2 more years before being scrapped.

Another thing that constantly amazes me. How can people sell a dirty car?? Ok so the seller says "I don't know much about the car" etc, but for fu*ks sake - does he not know how to wash it????

If it was cleaned under the bonnet and had the interior valeted for 50 quid it would be far more presentable than the utter shit heap it is now....

Unbelievable what the kit hides isn't it.

What's the cost of the rear quarters then? Very lucky to find some!

Nice spot.

It's an XR3 rev counter - same as my old "W" reg XR3.....

That's a seriously cobbled together car!

I expected them to be more to be honest! Not bad really, plus your labour, fitting and paint charges. But it's a serious amount of car area all nicely replaced......

Always wondered why Ford never made a car completely cased in plastic!

this car is just a bad attempt to build an s1 out of spare parts,
the reason he is probably selling it is because he found out its history
