Default downpipe issue

Anyone had any problems with the downpipe to turbo flange not sealing? I've got a magnex system on my s2 and I cannot get it to seal no matter how much I try/adjust it. Been thinking of converting it to a v band connection as you can now get them for a t3 with internal wastegate. Anyone done this or had the same issue please let me know how you sorted it

Cheers.

Had it years ago, on a std system, the o ring leaked. Eventually ended up putting a new one on it.

Assumed the old one had worn away with the movement in the system?

Got the same thing on mine, spent a while aligning and torquing the downpipe flange bolts evenly. Then I hit a speedbump a bit too quickly and the exhaust sounds like a kettle when you rev under no load

Have you checked and made sure both faces are clean and not bent or excessively worn?

No gasket didn't think they ran one? Got it sorted now. Took it to my local exhaust fabrication place and got them to re swage the joint and now its sealed so no more blowing exhaust for me haha.
Thanks for the replies guys.

No your right they don't but you can get gaskets . Heard of people having problems with them after fitting one that's all .

.

It is the actual down pipe to turbo that's blowing ? If it is I had this and it was due to the flange of the down pipe changing shape from engine movement and spreading to more of a T than a Y shape same when looking at it from the side, get a pair of mole grips and bend the outer edges inwards a mm or 2.

I hope that makes sense.

I could see it had gone mis shaped as you said ginge but luckily the place I took it to managed to reform it with abit of heat and their swaging jig. I run a flexi so it shouldn't be a problem any more.
