hello everyone
last week i noticed that my car leak water from the small rubber hose that goes from the turbo to the rad. At Ford is no longer available and I will not buy a kit from £ 200 for a tube
can you recommend some low cost solution?
I'm not talking about the top radiator hose but the small rubber pipe coming out of the turbo. the problem is that the part that goes on the radiator has a bigger diameter of the rest of the tube , so I can't put a normal rubber hose .
arr yep its the water return hose for the turbo. runs along the bottom cross member. i may have one of these but i see you are abroad. tryed ebay?
you could alway cut the split bit so tube is in 2 pieces, insert the correct diamiter piece of metal tube and jubalee clip it in place for a quick temporay fix.
good morning
correct Daz , the pipe is just what you say
unfortunately I have already tried ebay but I found nothing. the problem is that the pipe is broken right on the final part that goes on the radiator where the diameter is 11 mm instead of 8 mm as the rest of the tube.
You can safely disconnect the water cooling to the turbo (assuming it's a T3) if needed, this will stop the leak for now and could be happily left this way if you wanted to.

someone had done this to mine when i bought it. for the reason that the water pipes on the turbo were corroded. Will this not shorten the life of the turbo Karlos??

good morning, I'm afraid to shorten the life of the turbo. was revised 8000 miles ago.
Not if you allow it to cool down before shutting the engine off (let it idle for a minute or two, or just drive gently off boost for the last mile of your journey for example), Series ones had no water cooling either.
