Default Boost gauge reading?

Hi all I'm in the middle of doing loads of jobs on my s2 convertible and just wondered what other peoples boost gauge is reading on tickover? Thanks in advance

IIRC (its been a while since my car has been running) the guage sit around 18 InHg

I'll be honest, I have no idea what "InHg" is though.

Inhg I've never heard of that, mines in psi.

That's what it boosts too I take it, what about when it's just sitting on idle?

it should be sitting in vacuum not boost, vacuum is the inhg reading which not all gauges have, if your boost gauge starts at 0 and does not have negative readings then at idle it should show 0

That's the vacuum half of the boost gauge. So the below 0 part of the gauge. So 8psi of vacuum on idle.

InHg is inches of mercury, the greater the vacuum your creating at idle the better condition your engine is in and the less leaks you have on the intake side.
