I've had a few problems with mine n another was the dump valve, if drive it and as soon as it hit boost it would really badly hesitate to go unless I floored it it would stay at 8 psi and then after 2-3 secs it would boost to 14psi and away I'd go.
Found it was the dump valve sticking open and it was fine for ages before that.
I've blanked mine off now and not had any problems since

Ive not got a dump valve had every boost and vac pipe off and double checked now all ok just wants to cut out all the time its like its chocking

Right mate I've just fired mine up and it was backfiring and popping and buckerooing lol.as soon as I put my foot down it goes like stink haha. My ecu is in my glove box so I jiggled wires on ecu plug and it picked up its revs again so I went round block and it's mint as it was before.
you could try that?? Worth a juggle? Least I can pin point mine now

Try unplugging it n back on, check wires to battery haven't corroded. Not main wires the little ones. N have you checked all earths on loom? I think there's 3 off it mate

Try getting the ecu read through the diagnostic port, some garages still have the equipment ive got my own one its autodiagnose and helped me out no end when i converted the orion to efi on ofac, the diagnostc connectors are on the top of the left inner wing near the top mount there triangular in shape.That may shed some light on the problem.

earths checked and battery wires again all look good tried the ecu wires and again no diffrence its now struggling to start and when it does idles good but still wont rev really stuck with this now its my only car

Tried diffrent ecu had auto electrician out and still no joy?! Really stuck for ideas now and wirhout a car !nothong seems to make sense no mattee what I do helps the problem struggling to start now but when it does idles fine but as soon as laod is put on driving or just reving the throttle parked up it just chokes and wants to die?

Have you checked the fuel pressure ? when it starts to choke up is it black out of exhaust?
If its running rich before cutting out could be fuel pressure reg or duff water temp sensor.
What might be a idea is to find a mobile krypton tuner who can monitor fuel and check electrical system kv volts on leads, cylinder performance etc.

I had a mate that had an xr4i n every time he booted it it kangaroos n he found he had a kink in fuel pipe months later? I know it's opposite but were getting a bit desperate now :-( I wanna know what it is!? :-(
