Default Petrol tank s1 and s2

will a s1 petrol tank fit a s2 as ive got a mint s1 tank ready for when i do the underside of my s2

fits mate but the sender is in the wrong place so might read wrong reading?

I've just put a mk4 tank on a mk3 & as far as I can tell the gauge is reading right.

You also need to change the filler neck to suit which ever tank you use along with the fuel cap as a mk3 one doesn't fit a mk4 neck & vise versa.

good point mate.....
which also leads to the top of the neck at the filler cap needing mounting in a different way as ther different sizes/designs (if that makes sense..... open petrol cap and the bit that screws ther is different)

Think I'll pass and get a mk4 then sounds a lot easier
