Default conveting MFI to EFI

As above, what parts are required and what sort of money are we talking?
Is there a guide on here on how to do this and costs involved?
Finally what are the advantages of upgrading to EFI please?
I hope you can help.

Thanks.Lee.

It's a sticky in this section

Cheapest way of doing it is buy a complete fiesta rs turbo and sell what's not needed

Totally agree with that comment. Pull the engine and harness out of the FRST and drop it in. Otherwise its a ball ache because of the head and TDC sensor.

you will make the money back by selling all the mfi stuff and the fiesta car and bits too

a full car can be picked up for Ł1000 easy

Right ok,was just wondering.I will read the sticky thread in full when I get a chance.
So what are the advantages of running the EFI system over the mfi system?

Thanks.Lee.

mfi has poor fuel control, hardly any adjustment for ignition, less mpg, poor emissions, limited to around 200bhp otherwise you end up with having to over fuel it low down to fuel it at the top.

the list goes on and on, plus with age the mfi becomes unrealiable too

with efi, and a nice running engine you can get a msd chip pre mapped/ specced to suit your spec ect as you would with a cossie, it runs coilpack as standard too.

which means
better fueling, no having to just set it up the best you can
better ignition, hence less det
better mpg/ emissions
its endless, to be honest unless its a standard car im surprised anyone is still using mfi

much more potential for more power now that after you get bored you can just unplug the efi ofab/ofac ecu and plug in a fully mappable ofam aftermarket ecu from boost monkeys for Ł389.99 and with people like stu at msd saying he is willing to mapp them, means its a great product, and with this route the sky is the limit

No worries, I've gone one further now and binned the cvh stuff altogether and gone zetec turbo with gotech mfi pro

So much more drivability and low down response, I couldn't believe the difference

My old budget 190bhp zt totally left a 220bhp cvh for dead
