Default Running help

Right my escort when I first start it and take it out it runs sweet! But after a couple of boosts and temp goes up it runs pretty shit looses response and power! Also it's peaking at 18 psi but only holds 10 psi but as I say when it gets hot it looses power I'm ment to be taking it round castle coombe n I'm pulling my hair out cars spec is as follows

1.6 cvh
Cosworth l6 management
Dark green injectors
Stage 3 heavily ported head on standard springs
Piper t2 cam
T3 hybrid .48 4x4 turbo running 18 psi
Stainless exhaust
Grs front mount twin fans
Alloy rad
Spec r breather
Standard coil n fuel pump

Any quick fixes

Worn actuator?, it should hold around 15/16psi?

When was it last fitted with a BRAND NEW ONE! I must stress new because lots of idiots on here that think changing with another second hand one will work, when it's past it's sell by date too

Actually sounds like a pretty bad ECU calibration is potentially causing problems with this one mate if temps are only getting high on power.
Not enough fuel and/or ignition. maybe due to engine spec not quite being what you thought it was when you ordered the chip.

It should run the same regardless of engine temps.
That said, some of the common L6 CVH calibrations out there are grim to say the very least, with dodgy phasing maps that appear to have been done by someone who assumed them to be temperature maps and they cause issues just like this one you describe.

Regardless - More boost is definately the last of your problems!

I would not buy an off the shelf chip for a cvh

Every car is different, and when the chips are sent out they tend to have the ignition backed off be safe, but means its not set up to its potential

Get it in to stu at msd, or nms for a live mapp

Or jano

I have been told that the car randomly boosts to 30psi when it feels like it. Sounds like it has some dodgy issues with his cut and shut dizzy that sometime works. TBH the engine parts need a little more tlc before you try finding faults your mentioning or trying to run more boost

Kano is right I do need to get my ignition sorted but apart from the dizzy everything else is brand new the boost was a dodgy actuator has cost me 4 turbos now! Got a new one with a different acuator not once has it over boosted! The thing is I'd love the car to bits if it drove how it does when it does the first 15mins or so but as I say after 15 mins drives like a na 1.1

sounds to me like it needs a new dizzy and a live mapp by one of the "decent" cossie, weber tuners not a off the shelf chip
