Ive just put in a windscreen claim with my insurance co... Auto windscreens are the approved repairer and claim they can't get a genuine ford heated screen anymore. So i'll have to have a pattern screen...

Anyone know if they are available from ford still?

I had a pattern heated screen fitted to my Cabby and only half of it worked! lol
One of the tabs at the top had broken off severing the connection to that half of the screen, never could be arsed to do anything about it as it was the passenger side.

auto windscreens own products are crap, insist on pilkington if they cant supply OE I have a good mate that owns a glass company too

you dont have to use autoglass they just prefered company for most insurance companie talk to your insurance companie about orginal parts required for resale value ect ect! they proberley stick u with a larger excess on glass usally extra 40 quid! had same problem with autoglass! for my es land rover plus the pricks wanted me to drive to them and have it fitted ! luckly i use a real insurance broker (not online compare shit who have nothing to do with you after u payed ) he sorted it out with my insurance company to send different company out to me and fit a heated screen and didnt charge me any extra !

Well i can't get a genuine screen as Ford don't make/sell them anymore! Ive rang around afew dealers n checked...
I think i'll insist on a pilkington screen and hope for the best!

dont worry about it. if the screen dont work it wll have a guarantee and they will change it.
and for the record pilkingtons screens are not all that recently.
