I did about 60 miles in my s2 and the speedo was fine, not jumping or doing anything strange and the next day speedo won't budge past 0. Changed speedo cable and checked clocks and they're both fine so guessing its the speedo drive? But if it was the speedo drive would I not have got some signs of wear before it gave up? The old speedo cable was a bit tight to get out the gearbox end, dnt knw if that means anything..... Just having fun with the roll pin ATM!!! Any tips on removing this?

Could the black thing (speed sensor for fuel computer?) the speedo cable screws to be broken or worn causing the speedo cable not to turn?

If if it is my diff bearings are gone, the box would be making all sorts of noise? Cause mine is silent?
