Default amal valve jet

Hi,
I have a manual boost controller in my s1. Is the amal valve better?
I want a 2 stage boost switcher. My questions:
Is it better with an amal switch or i have to buy a dual stage boost controller?
Where can i buy the jets, for the amal??? And what are these exactly? Are these like a restrictor, or what? (language problems)
I want a swither between 1 bar, nad 0,5 bar...
PLEASE any advises!

a proper boost controller will always be better than a modified amal setup but the amal setup is better than a bleed valve. its easy enough the modify the amal to be 2 stage, if two settings is all you want. just an inline switch on the negative side mounted in the dash for example. the jets are just nylon inserts, bigger equal more boost, smaller drops the boost as less is been bled off. you don't need the jets specifically. anything can be used if the size can give you the desired boost. for example, set it to about 7psi on the actual, then alter the jet/insert on the amal valve until you have a bar of pressure.

Thanks m8.
A havent got a bleed valve, there is a mbc.
And a thinking about, to buy a dual stage boost controller from turbosmart. Is it better than the amal whit a switch?

I cant say based on experience but the turbosmart controller gets recommended by a good few people. I have a modified amal with the switch and it works pretty well

yes. simply set the actuator so the low boost is set at 0.5 bar. then play with inserts sizes on the amal valve to setthe high boost. you need some wire, connectors and a toggle switch. you may findthe amal doesn't need an insert/jet. be sure the fuelling is set up to accomadate 1bar though otherwise it will blowup. ive used small hose connectore in line with the vent pipe that comes of the amal as an alternative to the jets with success
